We facilitate the credit
Alta Independent works with students to get credit outside of the normal school setting. Our principal and staff insures that the classes are SUPERVIZED, SPECIALIZED, and DOCUMENTED. If your instructors and class work meets a criteria that exceeds the learning that can be received in a traditional school, then we can issue credit. We work with dancers, performers, sports teams, and more.

Educational Opportunities through Private and Public Programs
Alta Independent is a private, accredited, high school. We have teamed up with specialized, extracurricular, programs in order to be able to offer high school credit to students.
Benefits
Earning high school credit outside of the traditional school can free up your time. Students can use extra credit earned to help them graduate early, take other classes (including advanced classes), or shorten their school day.
Credit & Hours
Every 60 hours of verified program participation may earn you (.5) credits. (.5) credits is equivalent to 1 semester long class. The amount of credit that can be earned per academic year depends on the program.
Credit Application
Depending on the program credit may be applied as core P.E., fine art, or elective credit. Alta Independent will work with you and your school to apply and issue credit. Graduation requirements may vary by state and school.

Our Specialized Program Benefits:
Credits can be transferred to their current high school or applied towards a diploma from Alta Independent High School.
We will evaluate your program to determine if it qualifies under our current guidelines. Our partnership may provide added benefits for your programs and your students:
- Instruction and participation applies towards credit
- Students have more time for core classes
- Students have more time for homework
- More participation allows for increased program profits
- Earlier graduation
- Increased cumulative GPA
Alta Independent is an added benefit to your program. Historically credits were only offered to main-stream public school programs like football or basketball. We now make it possible for other programs outside of public schools to have the same benefit.
